Welcome to the Kev’s Gym team, Kristen!
Kristen’s yoga practice deepened when she moved from Connecticut to Arizona in 2016. She began her practice in Bikram-style yoga at a heated studio and eventually developed a passion for vinyasa flow after being introduced to various studios in the East Valley. For years, Kristen worked full-time in the legal field performing in high-stress, high-pressure environments and used yoga as an outlet to help her manage anxiety and stress. It helped her feel calm and centered on and off the mat, which eventually gave her the confidence to complete her 200-hour certification with Arizona Yoga Academy during the 2020 COVID pandemic. During Yoga Teacher Training, Kristen deepened her love of the practice after learning yin and restorative yoga. She learned about the benefits of calming the nervous system and slowing down and wanted to share this with others. Kristen graduated Yoga Teacher Training in the beautiful red rock mountains of Sedona, one of her favorite places to spend time, and made the decision to pursue her passions full-time.
In June 2021, Kristen left her corporate job to focus only on yoga and helping those interested find a healthy outlet for self-care and wellness. Kristen now shares her passion by teaching slow-paced classes and focusing on the breath to calm the mind while building physical strength and flexibility. She puts an emphasis on accessibility for all levels, encouraging students to listen to their bodies and engage in positive self-talk.
