Welcome, Jacinda!

Welcome to the Kev’s Gym team, Jacinda!

Jacinda (dance name: Aliya Dalal) believes that dance and fitness are among the best forms of personal expression available, and therefore should be accessible to everyone. Jacinda’s classes and workshops are fun, relaxed, and non-competitive, allowing participants to learn and grow at their own pace in a safe, nurturing environment.

Jacinda has trained in Middle Eastern Dance (a.k.a. belly dance) for more than 10 years. She specializes in Egyptian, Lebanese, Turkish, and American Cabaret styles. She has studied with the top master trainers in the field and travels regularly to the Middle East to further her studies and to compete in international dance festivals and competitions. She performs regularly at restaurants, festivals, cultural events, and celebrations in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area as well as throughout the United States.

Jacinda has been teaching both belly dance and mat Pilates since 2011 and has worked with a wide range of ages and backgrounds in various media (i.e., in-person and online). She holds her Group Fitness Instructor Certification through Athletic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and is a graduate of the Group Fitness Instructor Training (GFIT) Course at Yates Field House at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She trained in classical Pilates methods with Power Pilates and currently holds her Advanced Pilates Instructor Certification from FiTour.
