In other words, a person who has a high proportion of muscle relative to body fat will burn more calories at rest than someone who has a lower muscle percentage.
Did you know that 1 pound of muscle can burn 50 calories/hour during exercise and 10 calories/hour at rest. Fat burns 2-6 calories/hour. Gaining 5 pounds of muscle equates to 1.8 pounds/week of fat loss doing nothing!
